I've known my friend SR since my university days, long long ago. She recently moved into San Diego, CA from a place near there, and since I'm in the neighbourhood I'd be remiss in not visiting. It'll be my first California highway trip alone - TFS has to work, poor thing. But she'll have better weather - being on the coast, San Diego is not as warm as up here. But, "warm" is a relative term - back home it's still around freezing, while in San Diego it'll be in the mid-60s (°F), warmer at night there than the daytime high back home.

Cabrillo National Monument commemorates the first landing of a European expedition on what would become the United States western coast. A nice place for us to have lunch before leaving.
