I use a lot of links, and only thumbnail images open in a separate window. Middle-click or right-click a link to open it in a new window or tab.

I've never been a beach person - nor much of a water person for that matter - there are only lakes and rivers in the land-locked Prairies scoured out of the ground by the glacial action of the last ice age and the meltwaters of the Rocky Mountains .

But, I think I could be...

2013.05.03 Last Los Angeles Day

Today is a day to prepare for departure tomorrow and clean up loose ends.

One of those loose ends was to visit the Hollywood location of Amoeba Music [their site] and maybe buy some CDs. I took the leisurely and scenic route over Topanga Canyon and the PCH , then along Sunset Boulevard .

Amoeba Music covers a half city block. TFS thought it was the site of the old Tower Records on Sunset Boulevard.

is really, really,

really big.

It's probably good that I left Amoeba until the last day - I would have spent a lot more than the largish amount I spent already. I pretty much focused on the Used (I'm cheap) and Jazz (for my friend RL) sections and that took me 2 hours.

Music-ed up, my next stop was to see TFS's workplace at Red Studios Hollywood in the old Ren-Mar Studios lot, site of a wide variety of film and television productions.

Roscoe's House of Chicken and Waffles was our next stop, an LA "institution" serving its namesake dishes, together or separately. Yum!

Finally, a long drive. I intended to repeat my trip on Las Flores Canyon Road to see the night view from The Backbone Trail with all the pretty lights of the Valley and City. But I missed a turn somewhere and finished up on the Mulholland Highway .
A fine way to close out my last day here.
