Since last winter went so swimmingly, let's try it again! TFS has very graciously opened her home in the west San Fernando Valley to me again. This time her daughter AS (and dog and cat) are there too. Two women + two dogs + two cats = not my usual solitary winter again. Huzzah! Place name links like Los Angeles, CA go to Wikipedia. Well, time has come to saddle up and ride outta here. We'll leave early tomorrow morning and head for Albuquerque, NM , a 9.5 hour drive through the mostly-featureless parts of the Texas Panhandle with some high terrain and cooler temperatures as we approach Albuquerque. From there 5.5 hours onto Flagstaff, AZ to overnight and see as much of the Grand Canyon , Jerome, AZ , and Sedona, AZ as we can. Then, our final leg of 7.5 hours to Los Angeles, CA and the end of our Texas winter/spring excursion.
Or so we think... the last time we were in Albuquerque we were diverted south by a westward storm and had to miss the Grand Canyon. Weather looks good out that way, so here's hoping we can make it this time.
