I've never been a beach person - nor much of a water person for that matter - there are only lakes and rivers in the land-locked Prairies scoured out of the ground by the glacial action of the last ice age and the meltwaters of the Rocky Mountains .

Coast to coast, 7 days, 12 states, 4 time zones, 5518 kilometers (3310 miles). A trip! Now time to rest, do some socializing, and get ready for a snowless Christmas. I'll be catching up with our pre-trip story and onward over the next week, with tons of pictures and whatever impressions and memories that haven't been obliterated by the pace of our cross-continent travel and subsequent Christmas libation-ing. We're actually in Woodland Hills , a district of Los Angeles at the northwestern end of Ventura Boulevard . Woodland Hills is reputed to have the warmest weather in the City of Los Angeles, so a perfect winter sojourn location. | |
