Since last winter went so swimmingly, let's try it again! TFS has very graciously opened her home in the west San Fernando Valley to me again. This time her daughter AS (and dog and cat) are there too. Two women + two dogs + two cats = not my usual solitary winter again. Huzzah!

2013.12.01 Hollywood Christmas Parade

Comment

'Tis the season, for parades. This evening is the Hollywood Christmas Parade , on a day that feels anything but Christmas-ish. We got good seats near the starting point, which meant being there at 2pm for the parade at 6. But, the sun was out, the day was warm, there was food nearby and the usual cast of characters that fill Hollywood Boulevard .

Finally, Santa!
Well, this was a l-o-o-o-ng day. One would think that Hollywood would know how to do a parade, but this was the lamest Christmas parade we've seen, with overly long gaps between floats, too many cars carrying "celebrities" none of us had ever heard of (from Disney Channel shows, apparently), and just a lot of waiting for nothing much. Zzzzzz....

2013.12.14 Oxnard Christmas Boat Parade

Off to Oxnard, CA for a parade on the water. Just the opposite of the Hollywood parade, this one went by in a flash - not even a half-hour long.
